Rumble in the Kitchen is the latest fund raising event for Galvin's Chance, the charity that seeks to help disadvantaged and at risk young adults develop life changing careers in the hospitality industry. Founded by Fred Sirieix from Galvin at Windows the scheme has been running for some years now and has already changed the lives of many young people in the London area who otherwise would have had few options outside of a lifetime of benefits (at best) or crime at worst. Following on from this success, there are now plans to roll out Galvin's Chance to other cities in the UK.
Fred is also a passionate boxer and has remarkably persuaded over a dozen more chefs and front of house staff from across the industry to join him in a charity boxing night that has become Rumble in the Kitchen. We caught up with Fred and the other boxers from the evening at former British boxing champion Clinton McKenzie's south London gym. Watching them over the course of their two hour workout, everyone is giving their all to ensure Rumble in the Kitchen will be a night that no one forgets, guests or participants.
