The Ledbury: London's finest

With our chef friend in town, we wanted to show her not just a good London restaurant or a great London restaurant, we wanted to show her the best London restaurant: we chose The Ledbury. We asked for a modified tasting menu as we felt our friend couldn't stop by The Ledbury without having the truffle toast and onion curd, nor could the jowl of pork be passed up. But the reality is that at The Ledbury, we simply want to eat everything, without exception, for there is no weak link in the menu. The fillet of roe deer today was for example exceptional; we have had venison so many times since we started the blog but try as we might, we could not remember it ever tasting as good as Brett made it taste, how does he do that? That's The Ledbury magic.

When you tell a friend ahead of sitting down to lunch that 'this is the best restaurant in London', you set the bar high, yet at The Ledbury, the comment need not be followed by a prayer. At the end of the meal, our friend said, 'now I know what you mean'. That's how it always plays out at The Ledbury.
